Mythic Boss: Xylar the Iron Behemoth
Hidden deep within the mechanized depths of Blackthorn's Dungeon, an ancient creation slumbers. Xylar the Iron Behemoth (also known as the Clockwork Titan) was designed as a living engine of war. Conventional weapons will merely bounce off of his impregnable iron shell. To dismantle him, you must speak with The Chief Tinkerer to override his systems.
π The Clockwork Titan Questline
To face Xylar, you must follow the instructions of the master craftsman, The Chief Tinkerer.
Part 1: Gathering the Parts
- Objective: Collect 1 Perfect Clockwork Gear and 1 Dented Titan Plating.
- Gear: Found on Golems and mechanical constructs.
- Plating: Salvaged from the broken bodies of Exodai and Juggernauts.
- Reward: Progression to Part 2.
Part 2: The Power Core
- Objective: The Tinkerer will fuse the components into a highly volatile Arcane Power Core. This is the key required to jump-start Xylar's resting machinery.
- Location: Travel into the mechanized wings of Blackthorn's Dungeon.
Part 3: The Ancient Anvil
- Objective: Locate the Ancient Anvil within the dungeon. Double-clicking the anvil with the Arcane Power Core resting in your backpack will overload the circuitry and summon Xylar into combat!
- Note: The Anvil will overheat for 5 minutes between summons.
WARNING
Xylar is entirely constructed of solid iron. He boasts an absolutely monstrous Physical Resistance and is completely immune to poison. However, his ungrounded circuitry makes him highly vulnerable to Energy attacks.
βοΈ Rumored Abilities
Because Xylar is a machine, he does not succumb to pain or exhaustion. You must be prepared for his relentless combat protocols.
| Rumor | Description |
|---|---|
| System Overload | Adventurers claim that when the machine is heavily damaged (around 30%), it glows bright red from internal heat. It suddenly moves incredibly fast and begins violently cleaving everyone nearby. |
| Reflective Plating | Mages must be extremely careful. The Titan is rumored to periodically engage a glowing energy shield. Any spells cast at him while the shield is active will shatter and violently reflect back into the caster's face! |
| Seismic Ground Pound | Do not expect to safely kite him on horseback. The Behemoth loves to slam his massive fists into the earth, triggering a brutal earthquake that will forcefully rip riders right off their mounts. |
π The Loot Table
When Xylar is finally dismantled, he systematically drops a massive payload of end-game materials.
Guaranteed Drops
- Mythic Cores: 5 to 10 randomly generated cores.
- Gold: ~1,500 Gold alongside a massive Rain of Gold spread across the floor.
- Sosarian Coins: 75 to 125 additional coins.
π Artifact Drops (Rare 4% Chance)
You have a collective 4% chance to receive one of Xylar's mechanized artifacts directly into your pack upon his defeat:
| Artifact Name | Type | Statistics |
|---|---|---|
| Titan's Hammer | War Hammer | +20% Damage Increase. This weapon forged from titan iron boasts an incredibly massive 500 Durability. |
| Ironclad Cuirass | Plate Chest | Exceptionally heavy plating. Grants a massive 20 Base Physical resistance, but severely drains Dexterity (-10) due to its weight. |
| Goggles of the Machinist | Glasses | Glowing blue goggles that bestow +10 Tinkering and +10 Mining when worn. |
| Behemoth's Ring | Gold Ring | A legendary accessory granting the wearer +5 Hit Point Regeneration and +500 Luck. |
