Welcome to the realm! Age of Sosaria is a heavily customized Ultima Online shard offering a balance of classic gameplay infused with modern progression systems, legendary tamables, and intense mythic-scale boss encounters.
Whether you're a veteran returning to Sosaria or a completely new adventurer, this guide will help you hit the ground running!
⚔️ Core Character Limits
As you begin planning your character's build, please note our server's core caps:
- Total Skill Cap:
720.0 - Starting Stat Cap:
250(Note: This can be permanently raised through Stat Scrolls during your journey!)
🛡️ The Vanguard Initiation (New Player Quest)
You will spawn in the safe city of New Haven. Before you venture out into the wider world, we highly recommend completing the Vanguard Initiation questline to earn exclusive, powerful starter gear!
Look for Captain Aric, the Vanguard Captain in the town center and double-click him to begin. Aric will assign you to one of four trainers (Warrior, Mage, Tamer, or Crafter) based on your chosen path, each running their own combat or crafting trial. Completing any trial grants you a choice of starter item and a choice of starter armor/weapon pack — independently of which path you trained.

🗺️ Beyond the Horizon: Custom Systems
Once you outgrow New Haven, Age of Sosaria has expansive custom systems waiting for you:
⚔️ Monsters
When hunting normally across the world, standard evil-aligned monsters have a small chance to spawn as a Mythic Variant. These boss-level creatures have unique AI (like summoning minion swarms at 50% HP) and drop exclusive loot called Mythic Cores!
Expanding Your Menagerie
Animal Tamers on Age of Sosaria can pursue highly elusive beasts. Keep an eye out for Legendary and Rare Tier Pets and utilize the custom Dye Tub system to perfectly color-coordinate yourself with your legendary beasts! See Custom Pets for the current roster.
The Martial Arts System
Instead of hunting for the perfect standard belt artifact, Age of Sosaria features the Evolving Martial Arts Belt system. Start by earning a White Belt and level it up to a Black Belt by earning XP from combat. Once you reach max rank, you can specialize your belt into incredible disciplines like Archmage, Ranger, or Beastmaster!
