Evolution Pets System

Welcome to the Evolution Pets guide for Age of Sosaria. Evolution pets are unique, powerful taming companions that start as weak babies and grow in power, skills, and size as they gain experience from fighting monsters.

How to Obtain

All evolution pets start their journey from an Evolution Egg. These eggs can be found as rare drops (1% chance) from high-tier or Paragon monsters corresponding to their family:

Evolution Daemon Egg Daemons, Balrons, Succubi demon baby 3 96.1
Evolution Beetle Egg Rune Beetles, Death Watch Beetles, Solens beetle baby 2 65.1
Evolution Wolf Egg Wolves, Bears, Cu Sidhes wolf cub 2 75.1
Evolution Golem Egg Golems, Exodus constructs sand vortex baby 3 85.1
Evolution Undead Egg Liches, Lich Lords, Mummies, Zombies ghoul baby 3 95.1
Evolution Raptor Egg Lizardmen, Raptors, Alligators, Dinosaurs lizardman baby 3 90.1

Hatching and Taming

To hatch an egg, place it in your backpack and double-click it.

  • The egg will shatter, and a wild baby creature will materialize at your location.
  • You must quickly use the Animal Taming skill to tame it!

Progression & Leveling

Once tamed, your pet will gain experience points (XP) when defeating monsters.

  • XP Gain: Defeating stronger opponents grants more XP.
  • Leveling Up: The pet's current level and XP progress can be viewed natively in the Animal Lore gump.
  • Evolution Stages: As the pet levels up, it will automatically undergo dramatic physical changes (evolving its appearance and sounds) at specific level milestones, up to a maximum level of 14 (or 15 for Undead).

Balanced Growth & Caps

To keep the shard balanced and prevent "super pets" from breaking gameplay, all evolution pets grow under controlled and capped parameters:

  • Stat Growth: With each evolution stage, the pet's current Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence increase by a balanced 3%.
  • Health Growth: Max Hits increase by +15 per level.
  • Control Slots Scaling: As the pet grows in size and power, its control slot requirements will dynamically increase to reflect its current tier:
    • Beetle & Wolf (start at 2 slots): Level 1-5 = 2 slots; Level 6-10 = 3 slots; Level 11-14 = 4 slots.
    • Dragon, Daemon, Undead, Golem, & Raptor (start at 3 slots): Level 1-5 = 3 slots; Level 6-10 = 4 slots; Level 11+ = 5 slots.
  • Hard Caps:
    • Strength: 900
    • Dexterity: 150 (keeps attack speeds balanced)
    • Intelligence: 500
    • Max Health (Hits): 1,000
